“Are you ready for some football? A Monday night party?”

I used to love hearing those words growing up! Monday night football. Nothing like it!

Not anymore!

Things continue to change!

Blockbuster is dead…Netflix lives

Home phone lines are dead…Cell phones live

JCPenney, Macy’s, and Sears are on their way out…Amazon lives

Newspapers are dead…online news lives

Football was once king…Its slowly dying!

Everyone knows about the discussion taking place in the NFL about players kneeling instead of standing for the National Athem.

Racism continues to be a big topic and there are plenty of reasons why.

In the last 2-3 years I have…

Preached sermons on racism (Segregated Sundays, Dealing with Racism)

Taught two months of Bible classes talking about this issue

Taught on this subject with another brother in Centerville Texas…

Talked to over 100 college students on this subject at Texas A&M

Played a part in a discussion this past February at our congregation with three other brothers in Christ.

Taught on it a few weeks ago in Dallas Texas with four other brethren.

We need to continue to talk about this issue. We need to talk about it in the right way.

There’s a lot of focus on Football and the Flag. Let us not forget about focusing on our Father in Heaven and our Faith.

Keep growing your faith, 2 Peter 3:18

Keep seeking the Father, Matthew 6:33

Keep recognizing that God and the Gospel is how hearts will truly change.

Be sure to remember the Cross and talk about the Cross as much as you talk about the Flag!

We live in a great nation.

But also remember that those in Christ are part of the greatest nation, 1 Peter 2:9. This nation will never be destroyed!

Hurricane Harvey couldn’t destroy racism. It kept talks down on this topic for a few weeks. But not even a category 4. Hurricane could destroy this problem.

Only the gospel can, Romans 1:16.

Focus on the Father! Listen to Him! Open His book before you open Facebook.

Allow His word to post in your heart, before you decide to post on Facebook!

Talk about your faith as much as you do Football!

Start a forum in your neighborhood and talk about this issue. Or maybe at school!

Then do the same with Bible studies.

Focus on the Father and your Faith!

Thanks P-love for this idea!
