Having been on vacation I’m a little bit behind with my daily Proverbs. I began this month discussing a few verses from the book of Proverbs. We last ended in Proverbs chapter 14. I’m going to play catch up now and give you some powerful words to Ponder, Contemplate, Meditate, and Act upon. Indeed, they are powerful. Ready! Set! Go!

The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, But the path of the upright is a highway.

Proverbs 15:19

Don’t Be LAZY!

All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the LORD weighs the motives.

Proverbs 16:2

We can fool ourselves but we can’t fool God.

The beginning of strife is like letting out water, So abandon the quarrel before it breaks out.

Proverbs 17:14

Avoid disasters when you can!

He who gives an answer before he hears, It is folly and shame to him.

Proverbs 18:13

Be careful how you listen.

What is desirable in a man is his kindness, And it is better to be a poor man than a liar.

Proverbs 19:22

WOW, that’s really powerful!

Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is intoxicated by it is not wise.

Proverbs 20:1

I haven’t a drink in about 20 years. I don’t miss it. It never brought me anything good.

It is better to live in a corner of a roof than in a house shared with a contentious woman.

Proverbs 21:9

Be careful who you marry!

A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold.

Proverbs 22:1

Guard your reputation!

Do not be with heavy drinkers of wine, Or with gluttonous eaters of meat; For the heavy drinker and the glutton will come to poverty, and drowsiness will clothe one with rags.

Proverbs 23:20-21

Be careful who you associate with in life.

Prepare your work outside and make it ready for yourself in the field; Afterwards, then, build your house.

Proverbs 24:27

Have a game plan and then execute. Be patient!

Let your foot rarely be in your neighbor’s house, or he will become weary of you and hate you.

Proverbs 25:17

Don’t wear out your welcome! WOW, I think this is something to think about with respect to social media. Too much is not a good thing.

Like one who takes a dog by the ears is he who passes by and meddles with strife not belonging to him.

Proverbs 26:17

I may need to consider this one more.

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Proverbs 27:1

We don’t know what the future holds. Only God does.

He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.

Proverbs 28:13

Confession is good for the soul.

The righteous is concerned for the rights of the poor, The wicked does not understand such concern.

Proverbs 29:7

God has always been concerned for all people.

Two things I asked of You, Do not refuse me before I die: Keep deception and lies far from me, Give me neither poverty nor riches; Feed me with the food that is my portion, That I not be full and deny You and say, “Who is the LORD?” Or that I not be in want and steal, And profane the name of my God.

Proverbs 30:8-9

A powerful prayer that I need to pray more often.

An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, And he will have no lack of gain. She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.

Proverbs 31:10-12

One of the great chapters talking about a worthy woman.

I’m wrapping this up a few days early. I love the Proverbs and I hope you have benefited from these as much as I have.

God Bless.
