One of my favorite people in the Bible is Benaiah. His story in 1 Chronicles 11:22–25 never gets old.

“He also went down and killed a lion inside a pit on a snowy day.”

That phrase still gets me. Who does that? Who runs toward a lion?

Benaiah did. And because he did, he was honored, remembered, and used mightily by King David.

Running toward the roar is not natural. It’s brave. It’s different. It’s faith in motion.
