This is article #12 of Observations Gleaned from the Scriptures by JaneEllen.

God is Serious About How We Worship Him

In 2014 I started sending my grandchildren a verse or verses every Friday. For the next few weeks, I will be posting some of the verses I sent them.

Years ago during a study of Isaiah, I highlighted verses that I found interesting. In these verses today we learn how God feels about our worship to Him. He is serious and specific about how He feels about our worship.

Isaiah 1:11 – I have had enough of your burnt offerings.

Isaiah 1:13 – I cannot endure iniquity.

Isaiah 1:14 – I am weary of bearing them.

Isaiah 1:15 – I will not listen.

Our worship to God can deteriorate to the point that God won’t even listen to us. This is scary. It is possible for us to just go through the motions of worship; to just pay lip service to God. Hebrews 2:1 says “Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.” [Bolding mine]

Let’s be sure we are worshiping correctly so that God will listen to us.  We need Him.

Until next time, I remain with a song in my heart.
