They said to him, 'Your servants have come from a very far country because of the fame of the LORD your God; for we have heard the report of Him and all that He did in Egypt.' Joshua 9:9

In our daily family devotional, we recently read from Joshua Chapter nine. In this chapter, we read about the Gibeonites and how they deceived Joshua and the people.  The Gibeonites along with others had heard about what God had done for Israel in Egypt and in other places.

Now it came about when all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country and in the lowland and on all the coast of the Great Sea toward Lebanon, the Hittite and the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it, that they gathered themselves together with one accord to fight with Joshua and with Israel. Joshua 9:12

The kings and nations knew they were no match for God! They heard about God’s great power and Israel’s success in battle. What are people hearing about God today? More specifically, what are people hearing about God from us? We live in a world where many want to become Famous! Being famous is more attractive for some than being people of Faith. There’s a danger for our young people to seek after fame instead of faith.  While many will promote themselves, let us be people who speak of our great God!

Sharing the miracles of God with others is a great place to begin! The people in the days of Joshua heard about the miracles God had performed in Egypt. People need to hear about how God created the heavens and earth by speaking everything into existence! People need to hear about how Jesus turned water into wine, healed the sick, cast out demons, and the fact that He was raised from the dead on the first day of the week! A great place for us to begin sharing these miracle stories is with our children. As we have opportunity on social media, in our neighborhoods, with our families, and beyond, let us share what it is God has done!

Therefore many other signs Jesus also performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book: but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name. John 20:30-31

Share the story of Jesus and spread the fame of the LORD.
