It happened the night before. I recorded my podcast. I didn’t want to. I was feeling the pressure, not that particular episode, but the fact that I have more than 200 consecutive episodes to go.
Why do I set these challenges? Maybe I should just quit. I would free up more time for myself. But the reality is it only takes a few minutes to record.
Flash forward to earlier this morning. The thoughts are still there. If I quit my Ultraspeaking Project of 300 consecutive impromptu episodes now, I will have more time in my schedule.
I tell myself, “Yeah, it’s okay to quit. No one asked you to do this. It was you after all who even made this challenge.”
But then I began to think, “I just told my son to follow through on things. If I quit, then what message am I sending him?
Then another thought popped into my mind.
“Look up Seth Godin. I think he’s blogged everyday for the past 20-years! Why did Seth pop into my head?”
When I looked him up and began reading some of his thoughts as to why he does, it gave me the perfect perspective. It actually is the reason why I’m writing this blog post. I think I’ve written close to a 1,000 blog posts! WOOHOO. But I have slowed down quite a bit. So, what was it that Seth said that got me thinking about blogging again and continuing with my Podcast challenge?
I will let you read it for yourself. https://seths.blog/2025/03/across-and-within/
Thanks Seth! Now I will seek to write a blog post everyday! And thank you to the podcast episode I was listening to that had Seth on last year!
Early morning thoughts are interesting. When it’s quiet, sit in the silence. Take time to pray. See what comes to the surface.
