In the book “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living, author Dale Carnegie has a chapter entitled, “A Magic Formula for Solving Worry Situations.”

What is it? It’s quite simple and yet challenging at the same time.

  1. Ask yourself, “What is the worst that can possibly happen?”
  2. Prepare to accept it if you have to.
  3. Then calmly proceed to improve on the worst.

POSSIBILITIES

PREPARTION

PROCEED

I Love this formula. What do you think? Has there been something worrying you for a long time? What is the worst that could possibly happen? Many of our worries and concerns never materialize. But what if they did? Well, we must be willing to accept it. This may be the most challenging of the three points. But what we all must do when it comes to our worries and concerns is to FACE REALITY!

I think about the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12, when he prayed to the Lord three times to remove his thorn in the flesh. The Lord answered him, reminding Paul that His (the Lord’s) grace was sufficient. Paul had to face reality. His thorn would remain. But he could proceed forward not by his strength, but rather by the strength of the Lord! He was willing to accept it.

The same is true for us!

What area of your life do you need to consider the possibilities, prepare, and to calmly proceed?

Whatever it may be, trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5) and proceed forward with his strength.

I Can Do…So Can You!
