Happy New Years! It’s a New Year and plenty of new opportunities that await.
This time of year is always a good time to spend in reflection.
What worked well for you in 2024?
What might be some habits that you need to stop to help you achieve your goals faster?
Spend some time reflecting. I’ve recently been reading two books by Authors Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy. One is called “The Gap and the Gain.” The second is called, “10x is easier than 2x.” Both have been fantastic! One of the big principles the authors emphasize is AMB, which stands for Always Measure Backwards. It can be easy to go after the ideal (which is impossible to get to), and fall into what’s called “The Gap” where negativity, complaining, self sabotage, and unhappiness reside. A better option is to spend the time looking back to see how far you’ve come. This will help you to move to the GAIN mindset. As you shift your thinking recognizing your GAINS, you will also see an increase in getting to your goals faster. You will have better appreciation for the blessings you currently have.
Some may look back in 2023 and say, “All I see are a lot of bad events and unmet goals.” However, take another look if that is your mindset. Are you saying there was nothing good about last year? Did you have any mindset shifts? Did you move closer to your goals (even if it was by just 1%)? When we take the time to really reflect, we can pull ourselves out of the GAP and into the GAIN mindset.
I’ve already finished both books and I’m listening to them again on Audible. I highly encourage you to listen to both.
The future is BRIGHT! Keep moving forward and remember to have an “I Can Do” mindset.
