The Desire to Be Seen (Introduction)
We all want to be seen. Children want to be noticed for their achievements, whether it’s a stellar performance at a recital or effort in the classroom. Adults are no different. Many crave recognition, validation, and acknowledgment. But what happens when we don’t feel seen? Some turn to social media for attention, others to relationships, rebellion, or achievements. The longing to be known can lead us to unhealthy places—unless we turn to the One who truly sees us.
In John 1:35-48, we find a profound moment where Jesus not only sees people, but knows them. This isn’t surface-level recognition. It’s deeper. It’s divine. And it has the power to transform our identity, our purpose, and our future.
