Are you ready? You know what I’m talking about, right? April 25th is the day Avenger’s Endgame begins!

WHAT!!!! I know, I’m excited as well.

I’ve been waiting for this movie since around this time last year watching Avengers Infinity War. What is going to happen? Who will survive? What will the end credits look like? We shall soon know. Here’s what I do know. We have 3 weeks until this epic movie begins.
Why not walk into the movie theater a few pounds lighter?

Why not wear that Marvel T-shirt with a little more confidence? With three weeks out, it’s time to work out like a hero. I’m not a doctor or nutritionist, so as always be wise with what you do. Check with your physician first. I would like to suggest that we beef up our workouts just a bit and trim down our eating so we can go in strong to the movie! What say ye? Okay cool. Let’s do this.

Below are some tips as we get ready for Thanos. My wife laughed at me when I told her that I’m beginning to do two a days leading up to the movie.

She said, “You do know Thanos is a fictional character right?” Wait? What? Alright, alright, yes I do. But in life you must find ways to constantly motivate yourself to stay in shape. So this is another way for me to do it. Below are some tips and some things I’m going to do leading up to the Endgame. Let’s do this.
- Get the proper amount of sleep. I know it may be tempting to stay on Youtube, Instagram, or Twitter looking for spoilers, but don’t. Instead, focus on getting a little bit more sleep. I need about 7 hours each night to feel my best. The movie is 3 hours long. Rest up. You will need it.
- Incorporate push-ups each morning: This simple exercise will help you to become mighty like Thor? Okay, maybe not as strong, but you get the idea, right. There are 22 movies if my memory serves me correctly leading up to Endgame. Do 22 push-ups each morning. That will add up. If that’s too easy do the Ray Lewis push-up workout. Here’s my blog post for that workout.
- Run, Walk, Run, Walk, Run, Walk: Get some extra cardio in leading up to the movie. The last two days I’ve run 3 miles in the morning. I’m going to continue to do this leading up to April 25th. You don’t have to run continuously for it to be effective. If you can run or jog for 1 minute do it, then walk for 30 seconds. Slowly build up. Shoot for 20-30 minutes.
- Hit Those Weights: Virtually all of the actors who star in any Marvel movie has been hitting the weights. H.I.I.T training is a good way to getting your lifting in. It’s short and will burn a lot of calories. Yesterday, I did a 3 mile jog in the morning, and then went to the gym in the evening and did 20 minutes of H.I.I.T. for my legs. I typically use dumbbells for my exercises. There are lots of different workouts out there. Check out this website where you can try out different workouts. I get paid nothing for this. Or go to my book recommendation page and check out the workout books I have listed there.
- Cut out some of the sugar: You may not want to cut out all of the sugar you consume, but even cutting out a little bit each day will help you by the time the movie hits. Can you cut out one less cookie? One less scone? One less bowl of cereal? Less BBQ sauce or Ketchup? Every little bit counts. CUT…IT…OUT.
- Drink a lot of water: Every time you listen to these men or women who get ready for these movies, they always talk about drinking LOTS of water. Do the same. I try to get at least 6 bottles of water which will get me right around 100 ounces. Shoot for this and you should be good. Even if you don’t hit this, adding a little bit more of water each day will make you feel better.
- Eat from sun up to sun down: Eating during a certain period of the day will do you wonders. Giving your body time to digest what you’ve consumed is always a good thing. A simple way to do this is by just following nature. Wherever you live, find out when sunrise and sunset is. Eat during that time and fast the rest of the day. I’ve been following Rhonda Patrick, Ph.D. for some time and she has some excellent information on fasting and other resources regarding when to eat. Check it out.
These are some simple tips. You can obviously get a lot more advanced. Three weeks is a long time and a lot of changes can be made. But it begins today. The clock is ticking.
I CAN DO…SO CAN YOU. Let’s go.
